This is also several years old. This was mainly a physics and trigonometry test.
If it is too small or large on your screen, click to the download button to play it perfectly scaled to fit inside of your browser window.
After seeing VectorWars: Jedi Trainer ([link]) online, I couldn't resist the programming challenge presented in writing something similar.
I'm not going into the directions, just try holding down the mouse button and dragging and clicking on some of the different things. All of the scores are relative to a specific computer.
DIRECTIONS:
First, I never really finished it, so you just play for as many points as you can get.
You have 10 lives. You lose a life when a laser shot gets too close to the lightsaber's handle.
You get points for destroying drones. The only way you can kill a drone is by reflecting a shot back at it. Shots will not destroy a drone until they are reflected off your lightsaber. Moreover, you cannot actually damage a drone by hitting it with your lightsaber. Beating the drones around with your lightsaber will, however, shake them up. A drone will not shoot at you until it has recovered from such a beating.
To reflect shots, you simply let the shot hit the blade of your lightsaber. Each time a shot is reflected, it gets smaller. For this reason, you can only reflect a shot twice before it disintegrate when it hits the lightsaber. However, if your lightsaber is swinging too fast when you hit a shot, it will destroy the laser blast immediately.
Until a shot is deflected, it will 'loop' from one side of the screen to the other as it moves 'off-screen'. After the shot is reflected, it will simply disappear once it moves off-screen.
To swing your lightsaber, you simply move your cursor around the red "+" near the lightsaber's handle. This "+" is the point which the lightsaber rotates about. It can take a while to get use to the motion, but, with practice, you can master the blade.
Sometimes you just want your lightsaber to stay still so that you can deflect a shot more easily. As you hold down your left (generally) mouse button, the lightsaber will cease to rotate and will "freeze." While the lightsaber is frozen, you can freely move the lightsaber around the screen while retaining the lightsaber's rotation. This allows you to rotate your lightsaber the way you want it and hold that position while you move around to reflect a shot.
There are two types of drones that shoot two different laser bolts, red and green. The drone that shoots the green laser bolts is worth more points, moves faster, and shoots more often. The green laser bolts do not hurt you any more than the red ones, but the green bolts move much faster than the red bolts.
There are different lightsaber colors to choose from. You can change your color by simply clicking one of the colored icons in the upper-right area of the game window.
You can also choose between a single or double bladed lightsaber. You can switch by clicking the different lightsaber handles at the top of the game window. It will automatically switch you to a double-bladed saber when you have one life remaining. This is because it is easier to clear the screen of laser shots by spinning the double-bladed saber than by spinning the single-bladed lightsaber. Deflecting shots may be easier with the single-bladed saber, though.
Yah, I thought that'd be a cool feature to add.
And, it sure is!!!
That's pretty good.
My high score is a tad over 10000. ;D
I hope that helps.
LOVE IT
